Turning of the tide?

9-25-09, 5:35 p.m. Usually the Bengals.com Friday Roundtable of former NFL players and an NFL scout that looks at the upcoming game's key matchups, can't even agree if the table should be round. But with the Bengals coming off that must win in Green Bay, all three think they can keep the momentum going and beat the Steelers in what everyone views as a tight game that comes down to defense. Read More...

  • I.Q. test for O-line

9-24-09, 7:20 p.m. The left side of the line is embroiled in a season-long wireless game of Scrabble. The center's most recent favorite book is a psychological treatise. The new right tackle has had more addresses than an Army brat because his father...

  • Balance of (North) power

9-24-09, 7:05 a.m. Because of his flowing hair and heritage, he is supposed to be the Bengals answer to Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and become the heart and soul of the defense. Because of the position he plays and the ferocity he brings, he is...

  • Notes: Rivers Wards off hit

9-23-09, 4:20 p.m. Just like The Hit back on Oct. 19, Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward didn't hold back Wednesday when the topic of the broken jaw of Bengals WILL linebacker Keith Rivers resurfaced with Sunday's 4:15 p.m. rematch at Paul Brown Stadium.

Q (9/22/09): Do you see any letdowns this Sunday against what will be an angry Steelers team that lost to the Bears, or do the Bengals put the Steelers a game down in the division early in the year? What do you expect out of the offense, which appeared to finally be back on the 2005 road?
--Joe K., South Lebanon, OH
A: If there is a letdown, then everything the Bengals showed about their intangibles in Green Bay is a mirage. Given how they came through a mile of muck, starting with the week hangover of Strike Spike, hostile Lambeau, 13 penalties, and two of Carson Palmer's worst throws ever, this has been one of head coach Marvin Lewis' finest hours. If there is a letdown at home against their arch-rival it would be a big surprise. The Bengals seem real on the inside, don't they? Read More

"The one thing that will really hurt Whines, along with the inevitable hard hits he's gonna take is a Bengals victory. The one sure way to wipe that smirk off his face! A decisive victory would be even better, and it appears we have the tools to do just that, if we put it all together this week. If you look at it piece by piece, passing game, running game, pass defense, running defense, special teams, we indeed have what it takes to make it happen and get this monkey off our backs. So, let's take Whines and his Squealers down HARD, and make a trip to the Jungle for them something they FEAR ... as it should be!"
